Incheon National University launched the "2025 Thousand Won Breakfast" project on the first day of the new semester on the 4th. A total of 664 students had breakfast on the first day, and they were highly involved and responsive. Incheon National University has been in progress since 2016, long before the 1,000 won breakfast project spread nationwide, and has been selected as an excellent university for five consecutive years from 2020 to 2024 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Food Education and Culture Information Service in recognition of its outstanding operational performance so far.
Incheon National University's Thousand Won Breakfast Project has established itself as a customized policy for students to realize student welfare, which is required in this era of high prices, as well as to spread a healthy food culture of eating breakfast to college students. This year, Incheon National University has been selected as a participating university of the "2025 Thousand Won Breakfast Project" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Education and Culture Information, and is preparing to provide breakfast for students, and also participating in the "Incheon-type Thousand Won Breakfast Project" in Incheon City to provide high-quality breakfast to students.
Incheon National University's Thousand won Breakfast offers different menus every day, and last year, it promoted its business through various channels, such as producing short-form videos through a student contest. This year, Incheon National University's Thousand won Breakfast will be operated from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the first dormitory restaurant operated by the Consumer Life Cooperative on campus, and will develop a variety of menus such as porridge and bread using rice, which are more than four side dishes and healthy ingredients, and provide students with unique enjoyment through various student participation events.
Park Yong-ho, head of Incheon National University's Office of Student Welfare and Employment, said, "Our university's 1,000-won breakfast project is the most satisfactory student pride reinforcement project for students, and our university's unique student welfare project, which has been leading the way since the Thousand won breakfast project spread nationwide, is making active efforts to create an environment that many students can use comfortably because it is an essential project in these high-priced times."
