Advanced Major Track

The Advanced Major Track is a program that allows students to pursue in-depth study in their primary major. By choosing and completing a track offered by their department that aligns with their career goals, students can develop expertise in the field they wish to enter after graduation and better prepare for their future careers.

Advanced Major Track

Purpose

To help students develop their major competencies and plan their careers more systematically by completing an advanced major track based on career fields or major-specific competencies designated by each department
To promote students’ entry into relevant professional fields by providing intensive education in major courses that enhances academic depth and professional expertise

General Operating Guidelines

The availability of advanced major tracks varies by department. New tracks may be established each year.
Even in departments that offer advanced major tracks, participation is optional.
Failure to complete an advanced major track after applying does not affect graduation eligibility.

Eligibility

Students whose primary major is offered by a department that operates an advanced major track
Applicable to students enrolled beginning in the 2023 academic year, including continuing students, returning students, newly admitted students, and transfer students
